How do you disable SPAM protection? If I turn it off, I get the annoying yellow exclamation box in the system tray. I do not like my incoming email tagged with SPAM in the subject line.
Thanks
What avast version are you using free/Pro/AIS/Premier (as I don’t see the SPAM option in the Free version) ?
What is your email program
You will probably have to turn of the monitoring of the mail shield function (below) unless there is a specific option not to monitor that.
AvastUI > Settings > Appearance - scroll down to - Status Monitoring and uncheck the Mail Shield.
Unfortunately
2014.9.0.2013. I thought I had purchased it, guess not, but I notice the notification showing the same thing that appear in my subject SPAM so I assumed it was Avast. I have the Anti Spam option turned off, the rest are turned on.
I use Thunderbird latest issue.
If you have an anti-spam module it is more likely to be a paid version (as in the free version there isn’t), so I would have expected to have seen an option not to monitor that module (as mentioned in my last post). If you can’t find that try what I suggested with the Mail Shield.
Obviously you don’t want to disable the Mail Shield as this directly effects all mail and not just spam and you want your email to be protected. So you could try and uninstall the anti-spam module - Control Panel > Add Remove Programs/Programs and Control > avast! Antivirus - Change Remove/Uninstall button, select Change, from the new window uncheck the anti-spam module and OK your way out.
The reason I asked about email program is some come with anti-spam - Thunderbird has some form of anti-spam, but I don’t know how it works, e.g. if it brands the email Subject line. https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/search?q=spam
Seemingly was able to uninstall the AntiSpam Module, maybe that will do it, already had Thunderbird disabled.
Thanks
You’re welcome.
