Is it possible to disable the blue (successful) and red (unsuccessful) pop-up notifications when Avast updates? I have a laptop which is usually connected (so I have the always connected flag set) but when I am occasionally disconnected I don’t want the red flag to come up and tell me. I’ve tried to set the Running Mode as “silent” but this doesn’t appear to do anything - should it?
Go to ‘Settings’ on my signature.
You will find the value for avast4.ini file to suppress both blue and red notifications
Or simply use my avast! External Control
Great little app - did what I needed it to and more. Thanks.
Technical, I couldn’t find the relevant entry in the avast4.ini file
It’s not so difficult…
Section [AAVM]
SuppressUpdateErrorInfo=1
Suppress update error message (not the update itself) = 1; Show it = 0
SuppressUpdatedInfo=1
Suppress the small blue info window in the notification area of your desktop on updating; Show it = 0
Like I said there, you must add the line if it does not exist.
Sorry Technical, for some reason when I first looked at the page, IE didn’t load the whole page so I couldn’t see this AAVM section. All is clear now.
Never mind… Microsoft is doing one of its… ;D
