Disabling automatic actions

Hi, folks!

Anyone here knows how to make the Avast Free more obedient? I would like it to prompt me for action every time one needs to be taken or at least use quarantine instead of just nuking files. Also, it would be great if somehow among the suggested options I could see “ignore, I understand the risk” for single-serving execution of files I don’t want to add to the exception list.

I am using Avast Free Antivirus 2015

Thank you very much.
Regards,

Alex.

Hi parahumanoid2, welcome to the forum

With the default settings for each Shield ( except the Web Shield ) Avast! first tries to repair an infected file, if that fails it tries to quarantine the file, if that fails too it deletes the file.
But if you want to change it, choose:

Settings - Active Protection - … Shield - Customize - Actions

… and you can change how Avast! acts when it detects something.
Personally I don’t recommend changing the default settings, unless you know what you are doing !
