Hi
I decided to buy the Avast Internet Security Suite 5.
I’m using W 7 HP.
When I hover my mouse over the Avast icon on the taskbar, I have the following message:
“Avast! Antivirus: Attention your system is not fully protected” but when I click on the icon it says I’m secure and the system is protected.
So how do I correct these seemingly contradictory messages ???
Another problem has reared up…when in virtual mode IE 8, my Roboform toolbar vanished or doesn’t work. Also won’t save new passwords…watch that!
So I am not really impressed with this virtualisation mode. But I don’t go to specific Webpages where there may be malware either. For people who do, it may be useful.
As for the average user :-\

As far as the taskbar icon, if it says you’re not secured, that means one of your real-time shields or automatic updates is turned off, or your definitions are out of date. You can either turn the shield on, update, etc., or stop the icon from monitoring that particular item, see Settings>Status Bar. Just uncheck the item you don’t want the icon to monitor and then it will show as secure. That Summary page just adds to the confusion by saying SECURED when the icon says unsecured. It’s a little confusing at first but after awhile you forget about it. ;D
Alternatively, you can remove any shields you’re not using, see Add/Remove Programs and click Avast then Change. You deselect shields you don’t need and then they won’t even load.
Try a repair of avast. Control panel > add/remove programs > select avast Internet security > choose Repair. Restart your computer.
Thanks all!
I resolved it by stopping all shields and restarting them and my system is secure.
As to the virtualisation, I’ll only run it for general browsing and use Roboform exclusively to visit my trusted sites.
Bye! Hrad
