The version PRO 4.1.260 seems to disconect the dial-up connection after an update…
I configure - in Advanced Interface - that I connect to Internet just using a moden (dial-up connection) and, of couse, disable the “always connected” option 
What´s happening? ???
Please, try to do more tests if possible. Updater program itself doesn’t contain any intentional ‘hang-up-now’ code.
Can you set the ‘checking’ options to default, ie. both off?
