Disconnected update

We have deployed avast ADNM in a disconnected environnement (not directly connected to Internet). Is there a way to update virus database without connecting the server to internet?

You need to have at least the AMS (Avast! Management Server or ADNM) installed on a PC directly connected to the internet.
As long as you have that setup and functioning, all other PC’s on your network will be able to update the antivirus from it.

edit:: if you want the database on a computer other than the AMS and a full SQL server, have a read of this topic http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=19391.0

Well, although the thing Hapax-Legomenon just said is more or less correct (it’s what’s documented in the Administrators Guide), there IS a way to run the AMS even on networks completely isolated from the Internet (we were forced to implement this functionality on request given by certain important customers – you can probably guess what kind of customers I’m talking about :)).

So, if you really need to run the AMS on a completely disconnected network, let me know and I’ll try to get you the informatio you need.

Thanks

Hello

It’s exactly what you have understood. Our customer is a very important one and we are in a completely disconnected env.
