Discovering False Positives

I have just run an Avast boot scan after installing it. It found the following items. I have a feeling some or all are false positives. But how do I know? I had Norton and it never picked up on any of these. One of the files is from a game demo i downloaded from the publisher I somehow doubt it would have a virus, am I wrong to think so? Also is there a place to learn more about particular viruses, Trojans and ad ware, particularly which files tend to be infected with them? Here is what my report found:

Scan of all local drives
File C:\Program Files\Azureus\daemon.exe is infected by Win32:Delf-AGZ [Trj]
File C:\Program Files\Deus Ex - Invisible War Demo\System\Ion Launcher.exe is infected by Win32:Small-CHY [Trj]
File C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\gsda.dll is infected by Win32:Adan-055 [Adw]
File F:\My Downloads\daemon.exe is infected by Win32:Delf-AGZ [Trj]

Number of searched folders: 17459
Number of tested files: 304303
Number of infected files: 4

any help is appreciated!

Thanks!

You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner I feel virustotal is the better option as it uses the windows version of avast (more packers supported) and there are currently 30 different scanners.
Or Jotti - Multi engine on-line virus scanner if any other scanners here detect them it is less likely to be a false positive. Whichever scanner you use, you can’t do this with the file in the chest, you will need to move it out.

If it is indeed a false positive, add it to the exclusions lists (Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add and Program Settings, Exclusions) and periodically check it (scan it in the chest), there should still be a copy in the chest even though you restored it to the original location. When it is no longer detected then you can also remove it from the Standard Shield and Program Settings, exclusions.
Also see (Mini Sticky) False Positives, how to report it to avast! and what to do to exclude them until the problem is corrected.
