Disk E: Boot Record

I recently installed Avast Free Antivirus 5.

I performed a Removeable Media Scan, which completed instantly, however it returned the message ‘SOME FILES COULD NOT BE SCANNED’.

Clicking on the results shows that the status for Disk E: Boot Record is Error: The parameter is incorrect (87).

I don’t know if this is relevant, but Scan PUP is turned to ‘off

Could someone explain to me what the problem is here?

I just want to perform a Removeable Media Scan. Any help will be much appreciated.

Well, what is the E: drive on your computer? If it’s a removable drive, is it connected, or is there any media inserted?

I used to have this problem on one of my machines.

With V5, I would get the same error on the drives used by a media card reader - even when they were empty.

Just checked again, and with 6.0.1044, this does not happen. So maybe it was a bug in version 5 that Pondus mentioned. I thought it was something to do with the card reader and windows…
