Dissable SSL/TLS? What does this mean?

Have just set up a new mail program (incredimail) on my e-mail. Avast is telling me to dissable SSL/TLS in my mail client. I don’t know what this means, Can anyone help me? :-\

You need to go into your mail account settings and turn off SSL/TLS by setting the security to none for incoming and outgoing so that avast can handle the security for your email.

I am also using Incredimail and I unchecked ssl for outgoing and incoming mail. After doing so, I found that no mail can be sent or received. Rechecked the boxes and all seems well, but I’m still periodically getting the annoying Avast! Information box. I have no idea where the pivacy setting is that you refer to in your post. If anyone knows, please let me know. If I can’t use Avast to it’s full functionality, I’m asking for a refund.

The pop up is just a warning from avast saying that since your mail account is using SSL/TLS secure connection it can not scan it for virus

so you now have two options…
maybe your mailprovider is already scanning the mail for spam/virus at the mail server, and you dont want avast to do it
if so go to avast mail settings and turn off the SSL/TLS pop up warning

if you want avast to scan…then you must sett it up correct…see belowe
