1. Ignore this ZA notification, it has never recognised avast and many other AVs, I don’t know if this is mis-information in the hope you will buy there AV option.

  2. Don’t take the WinAudit info at face value, check for yourself. First I doubt it would know when you last did an on-demand scan as that can only be what it is reporting, you would know when you last did an on-demand scan. When you first open the Simple User Interface (right click the avast icon, select Start avast! Antivirus), it will say when you last did a full avast on-demand scan. Also because of the resident on-access scanners and on-demand scan is less important, but I do one (Standard, without Archives) weekly as part of my regular system maintenance.

  3. why were you doing a system restore ?

  4. What is your firewall as this after image has been associated with one in particular one ?

  5. Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. You need to be on-line to do this.
If that doesn’t work try, uninstall, reboot, install, reboot.
It would probably be best to first download the latest version of avast http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again. Use that when you reinstall.
