do I need to shut it down?

I found problem with my compiler when Avast was running.
The compiler generated code that was unpredictable.
Since I found the correlation, I always shut down the Avast at the front.
Have you observed the same thing? It needs a lot of Thylenol, per annum.

Which is your compiler? Can’t you add it to the Exclusion lists?

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…

For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…

You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.

avast shouldn’t effect the code generated as it just scans, not edits content. Why this might happen because avast happens to be running is very strange.

David is right…
This is a problem of me: I’ve tried to solve the effects and David to cure the cause of the problems 8)
