Do I need to uninstall Mcafee BEFORE installing Avast ultimate package?

Hi,
I have acquired a new laptop with McAfee business already installed.
Do I need to uninstall Mcafee BEFORE installing Avast ultimate package?

First, Iā€™m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.

I would suggest, yes, as it should then fall back to Windows defender, then restart and check if it has been removed.

When you install Avast, Windows should disable the Windows Defender to prevent conflict when you install Avast (or any other antivirus).
