Do I still need Defender/MSMPENG.exe?

Since I now have Avast Home edition…do I still need to keep the MSMPENG.EXE process running?

I would like to save memory and remove it if that is safe.

avast is an antivirus.
Windows Defender basically an antispyware and an antitrojan.
So…

But if you don’t surf dangerously you can disable the WD and keep avast updated and running in background all the time :slight_smile:
You can use WD to on-demmand scannings from time to time.
