Do this look like I have a worm?

Whenever a program lags, or I burn or rip a cd the cpu usage goes up to 100% and stays there. I can’t even turn off my computer the right way when it’s like this. It would save my settings and say windows is shutting down but it would stay there until the batteries runs out, or I unplug the adapter and take out the batteries.

Can somebody tell me what is wrong?

a new screen shot. http://home.1asphost.com/youngbuck/Untitled-12.jpg

system is too high, and I think that is the problem. When my computer was working fine, system idle process was taking up over 90, but it was running smooth. Do you think I have a worm? I deleted Avast antivirus and installed Norton 2004 and I didn’t find anything.

This is it when it’s normal. http://home.1asphost.com/youngbuck/normal.jpg

Notice System Idle Process is at 99 and the cpu usage is at 1%

system.exe is a Net Controller 1.08 Trojan

how do I get rid of it?

What do I need?

I’m running Windows XP Home Edition, BTW

Do you have avast! installed? I’m pretty sure it can detect it.

I don’t have it installed anymore. I ran a scan and it didn’t detect anything, so I deleted it and installed Norton, and that didn’t detect anything.

Use my Rogue Process Xterminator(download it on my page) to terminate (or do this via Task manager) this trojan, than just delete it.

Are you sure there is a trojan in the task list? I’d say that “System” is simply system (“kernel”), not system.exe. I don’t see anything suspicious in the list…

Ups,my mistake.
