The danger is the possibility of exploding or flaming batteries. :o

Dell = Hell

In my country they are more expensive than others, although they do not use any resellers.

  • They deliver their systems stilll with only 256Mb with XP installed
  • You often get a 48x speed cd-rom instead of what is nowadays normal standard a 52 speed one
  • They charge 89(!) euro (+/- 113 usd) delivery costs
  • They often use slow ram chips in brand new systems
  • They often use old components in brand new systems
    etc. etc.

that’s odd : Dell laptops are the only ones allowed to carry in handluggage on airplanes these days ;D ;D ;D

Not anymore if they are liquid and you want to travel from a English airport :slight_smile:

That level of security has been reduced, still no liquids but you are allowed one item of hand luggage and can include electronic equipment, like a laptop.

Interestingly Dell are getting sued in China I think over advertising statements about their laptops. Perhaps they can combine this with a class action case for flame damage ;D

Thirsty? Here, have a drink of my Dell laptop ;D

Oh becarefull, someone dropped his laptop

ha exploding batteries!!! Dude you should have gotten a Mac 8)

If I remember well, Apple computers had similar issues and you (Kyle) posted about it in this forum not so long ago…

...Not many people are aware of the fact that apple has recalled some laptop batteries due to overheating issues. Mac OS X usually will shut down the computer if any sensor exceeds a specific range, however there is still a fire hazard with the batteries...

Anyway, I hate Dell… my 17.4" widescreen Gateway rules my World ! ;D

Anyway, I hate Dell
nice quote S.Z.Craftec :o
My Alienware and HP Laptops rule my Domain…
Their saying should of been:You’ve Got Hell(Fire from the Batteries!)

yea apple has had fire issues (what laptop company hasnt) but never exploding batteries

Well, if you used to keep your laptop close to some gas tank or something similar… there you go… KABOOM !!! ;D ;D ;D

I remember back in Croatia, there were similar problems with some Korean or Japanese (not sure) cell phones… Those were some of the best selling ones. Their batteries used to explode after they reach some specific temperature. Another factory error ::slight_smile:

By all accounts these batteries are supplied by Sony, after the Sony rootkit issue I have vowed never to buy another Sony product, but you don’t expect to see them creep in through the back door when you buy another product with a Sony component, spit. Good job I wouldn’t buy a Dell either ;D

Saw a nice picture in todays newspaper of a Dell Laptop bursting into flame at a conference, it was caught on the CCTV cameras.

This is the one:

::: JAPANESE CONFERENCE :::

…and… this could be their new TV commercial ;D ;D ;D

Just saw an interesting ad in the newspaper for a Dell Inspiron 1300 15.4" widescreen laptop, after all the technecial specifications was the headline CREATE AND BURN CDs ;D

It would be more accurate if they put it like this:

CREATE SOMETHING AND THEN BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN ;D ;D ;D
