Do you have avast 4.5 beta? On which OS?

Please don’t answer if you don’t have the 4.5 beta installed.

This poll is conducted to get a better idea of how many users are using the beta and which OS’s can be assumed as covered.

Thanks for your participation.

Hey VLK,
It’s radicalb21. I’m running Windows XP PRO Service Pack 2 with all updates applied. I haven’t had any problems.

Hi Vlk:
Same as radicalb21 except, I’m beginning to find some problems. They are listed on the Problem with 4.5 thread. I still think this is a vast improvement over the old version and will be even greater when the buggs are gone. ;D

XP SP2 … I seemed to have a problem with the mail scanner at first (using Thunderbird, and it was still manually set… upon starting it, it refused connections to 127.0.0.1). Simply setting the server settings for both accounts back to normal, turning off and restarting the subsystem fixed the problem (I receive over 100 viruses a day, so it immediately passed the test as it snagged one). So far, so good.

email detection has changed from 4.1 to 4.5. Now it works automatically. Please, set up your email account just as avast does not exists. It will detect the pop3/smpt/imap ports and scan your messages.

Yes, it was through reading here while installing that led to my turning everything back to as it was. However, if a user has been using Thunderbird, and changes back, Avast needs to get restarted on the mail client to recognize that it has been done. Turning off/on the mail scanner does it in a second, as mentioned. Running very well, just as before. Getting close to purchase, especially now that Soulseek is covered in there, and that is what my mail scanning is for (hence the heavy viruses). When this goes final, I think I’ll be ready to finally upgrade to Professional.

Why will you wait for it? ;D
You can start now 8)
You won’t regret of the Professional version

Using it on Windows XP SP 2 Home Edition…
