do you smell update when there is no update?

every time I open my browser I get a dialogue box that says “A new version of Avast Safezone is available. Would you like to update now? Yes No” (or words to that effect) If I click yes nothing happens but when I try to do a manual update it tells me I have the latest version… wtf??

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

This is not intended behavior. Probably previous update was interrupted in some “sensitive” phase. Repair should solve this.
