Do you use Opera 10.5

I was wondering if anybody is using the new version of Opera, 10.5
If so how do you like it? Have you noticed any bugs/

I have not upgraded to 10.50 yet but I probably will tomorrow.

there’s only on thing I can say it’s damned fast. I tested it with sunspider and for the first time, it’s as fast as Chrome. For the rest, Unite is getting better and better, the interface is really nice. I’m a Firefox user mainly, but I must admit that since 10.0, Opera is doing a fantastic job.

Hmmm… looks like it’s worth giving a try. ::slight_smile:

I’ll wait until the fat lady sings.

I’m using it right now.
I use Dial Up, so I really can’t experience the - Fastest Browser in the World - speed increase that has been touted. For me and my Dial Up, I guess SOMETIMES it’s arguably slightly faster.

I immediately didn’t like the default LOOK, the GUI. To me it looks freakin’ unfinished. It looks like they tried to copy Chrome or IE8 or something. I really thought they were gonna switch to an under wraps awesome LOOK once it was released. But, no, it was released with that pathetic, generic Vanilla LOOK. I ended up utilizing the System Color Scheme to give it a tolerable LOOK. But, that’s just me. Apparently other people do like the LOOK. Oh sure, I COULD theoretically download a Skin, but with my old, underpowered computer, I cannot spare the RAM. So, this System Color Skin will have to do.

There IS one Bug that bugs me. In New Comment Boxes in Forums like here where I’m typing and on Blogs, sometimes, the text will disappear beyond the bottom of the New Comment Box where you can’t see it. It won’t scroll to maintain the text visible. I have to hit ENTER once or twice and then backspace. A friend has acknowledged experiencing this herself as well. I don’t know if Opera knows about it already.

don’t hesitate to report any bug you encounter on their forums, but be warned, the devs there are extremely slow to respond (worse then here ;D ). You sometimes get some feedback when you actually forgot about your own post

Oh, I know about the Opera Forums. It’s just that with the tons of Bugs that have already been reported, I wouldn’t know whether the particular Bug I’ve observed has already been reported, probably multiple times.

The bad thing is that it isn’t one of those bugs that one can reproduce at will. It just happens randomly.

Hi folks,

I always learned from my good friend, the late search-guru, F.RAVIA+ (R.I.P.), that Opera was THE browser for searching the web, awful. Just wanted this posted here, read all about FRAVIA+ and his views on Opera here: http://www.searchlores.org/ particular link: http://www.searchlores.org/tuttiope.htm
I have learned so awfully much there on that site,

polonus

I use the no-install version 10.5,Opera@USB. You can find it here http://www.opera-usb.com/

I really like having my rss,mail,newsgroups,browser all-in-one.

I use 10.5 on two computers with no real issues. There are a couple of sites where the javascipt doesn’t work right, and a longstanding issue about poor wireless links that hang up for a while (but better his release) but still use it as my primary browser. Works very well with all the stuff in my signature.

When I click “help” check for updates, it says I have the latest version (10.10)
I’m thinking I might wait for an update.
Thanks everyone for your reply.
