If you don’t want to help, then DON’T! No need to call me stupid. I’m not your kid or some elementary school kid.

FYI … I HAVE been using Vista SP2 in this computer for quite a while now. Right now I’m only temporarily operating without it for the purpose of troubleshooting the problems in my computer.

I had previously been using the older version of Vista SP2 without any problems. The other day I installed the updated, newer, bigger file size version of Vista SP2 and coincidentally I kept getting many disconnects on my Dial Up. I want to do some experimenting to see if the newer, updated Vista SP2 is the culprit for THAT problem.

And second FYI … regardless of how I’ve had my inferior computers set up throughout the years, they just don’t get infected. This compared to the multitude of much more superior computers with multi-levels of protection that I read about … getting seriously infected. Somehow, my computers have had the same spotless track record as the computers of many on here who do have everything absolutely up to date. I guess I don’t have risky browsing habits.

Anyway … back to my original question … for someone who won’t be rude:
Does avast 8.0.1497 NEED Vista SP2 to work properly?
