Does avast! Anti-Theft block the OTA update?

Google is warning me that there is an update available, from 4.0.4 to 4.1.
When I try to update, it fails.
Could it be related to avast! anti-theft installed as root? Should I uninstall it before?

By the way, I’ve tested CWM Touch and the normal one.
I’m root at Galaxy Nexus Google stock ROM 4.0.4 yakju.

Hi,

we have only one 4.1 device at the moment and the update went just fine with non-rooted beta (internal) build of Anti-Theft installed. I don’t think AT should cause any issues, but I may be really wrong of course. If it fails with AT installed, you can as well try to uninstall it and update and we will see how that goes.

It also fails… I can’t understand as I have a Google stock ROM 4.0.4 precisely because I want to go for OTAs and not for custom ROMs.
It’s disappointing…

This evening my Galaxy Nexus notified me of an update, I just said to continue, it rebooted and installed Jelly Bean 4.1.1 without issue. This was from ICE 4.0.4 on a stock (sim-free) Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus, non-rooted ROM.

I’ve got into a nightmare…

Conclusions (I’ll write them as I try to get calm…):

  1. Never install Busybox to the /system/bin/ folder. Ever. Never. You can be brave and install it to /system/xbin.

What about Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus?
Do you I have to do that too? or this is an issue related to Galaxy Nexus only?
Because Samsung started pushing 4.0.4 updates to the Galaxy Tab series

I don’t have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, so I did not test it…

The nightmare continues…
