Does AVAST check sofware updates for viruses?

I have been using AVAST for a short while now and really like it. I am wondering if AVAST checks software updates for the presence of viruses? As i’m sure you’re aware, downloads are the primary way viruses are introduced to our systems.

Yes, Avast scans all download traffic when it is downloaded (web shield) and then scans it when executed (file shield).

As i'm sure you're aware, downloads are the primary way viruses are introduced to our systems.
you can be sure that avast team that have worked with virus in more then 20 years know how computer virus works ....so leave the worry to avast ;)
