does avast cover avant???

???
i just installed and figured out the avant browser today - it’s made a big difference speed wise on my crappy dial-up connection. however, i don’t know if avast antivirus will protect the avant browser like it does internet explorer. help! what do i need to do to make sure my new browser is supported for antivirus protection with avast?

thank you in advance,
shel

I believe it does, but you can check and see if the avast icon is rotating when you are browsing web pages. You can also check the Web Shield detailed view and see if the Last scanned: and Scanned count: increase.

Check these links http://www.nod32.de/download/jpegcompoc.jpg http://www.nod32.de/download/jpegcompoc.zip avast should wake you from your slumbers if it is working with Avant.

Avant is an IE based browser so that means avast has it covered both by the web shield and script blocker(only available in Pro version)

P.S:Welcome to the forum

EDIT: Made a double post, sorry :-[ I guess i was in too much of a hurry to post and the QUOTE and MODIFY buttons are so close together…

thanks yall - my icon does spin, but somewhat sluggishly - i clicked on the first link listed by David R and avast popped up a malware warning and then detected a virus, so i guess it’s working in my avant browser.

Your welcome, now you have and idea of what happens if you happen to bump into a virus during browsing.
