Does Avast detect DELTA SEARCH TOOLBAR MALWARE?

On a test rig dowloading drivers for IBM Thinkpad T41 On test hard drive managed to download DELTA SEARCH TOOLBAR AND dropped all kinds of malware via a site for ibm drivers. Very Dangerous toolbar. Does avast detect this?. Hard drive at the time was running just windows xp at the time naked with out any antivirus. Mannaged to kill it with ADWCLEANER. Just to be safe reformatted hard drive and on test again on test rig to see if avast will detect this malware?

avast may detect it as PUP
PUP = not a virus / Possible Unwanted Program
PUP scan is default off in quick/full scan…but on in boot scan

Thanks for info, pondus

Yes Nasty infector malware. Now my IBM T41 is now running nicely with avast 8 New image of windows xp loaded off the test rig on hard disk and now inserted in IBM T41 Faster and better than my old IBM T22.

Ah Just some driver sites load malware! under google search have to be careful!
