Does Avast! Home come with a Firewall?

Hi all!

I wondered if the recent release of Avast! Home comes with a proficent Firewall? So i can have virus scanning and firewall protection in one program (hence no need for Zone Alarm)

avast is an anti-virus program not a suite and doesn’t come with a firewall.

It has a network shield but that shouldn’t be confused with a firewall.

Network Shield provider protects your computer from Internet worm attacks. It works similarly to a firewall, even though it does not fully substitutes it. The Network Shield does not require any user interaction.
