The strange thing I see is that it is reporting a folder as invalid, “C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4” now that is really strange and not something I have come across before.
Did you install avast in the default location that is being reported “C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4” or elsewhere ?
Are there any accented characters in the path ?
The other thing in the error reports is the error number 00000005 = Access is denied. This may well be correct because of the applications protecting some areas/files.
I think an uninstall, reboot and run the uninstall utility, reboot to completely remove avast and when you reinstall it allow it to be set-up in the default location.
