I was wondering if it was worth paying £25 to cover 3 computer using Avast! as it is probably the best AV software I’ve come across, but I was discussing with my family if it would be a good idea to pay for Premier even it lasts for only a year, hence why I am curious as to how long the upgrade from Free lasts.

If you upgrade from the free version, I believe you can sign up to a 60 day trial before payment. But be careful there can be an automatic annual renewal function involved in this 60 day trial.
Just to add, The Premier License I bought was for 3 PC’s for 1 year. You can buy for more then 1 year for more money. 
Edit: Try for 59 days then buy a Premier License. ;D
