Does Avast Protect against Internet Security 2010 and Google Redirect Viruses?

I’ve been recently infected by IS2010 virus, which REALLY makes me mad since this virus just automatically changes the good website I’ve looking at and downloads without my permission and the only way to prevent infection is to basically rush against the clock and close that internet browser which is tricky for this virus since sometimes it freezes the IE.
Thing is, I’ve had Avast! and this virus still shows up and it really messes up my internet browsing and Avast seems to have done nothing to protect against it, another virus that really annoying is Google Redirect - which redirects you from websites you want to go to some shopping/ads sites while you are Googling.
While I’ve been infected with IS2010 virus during short time when I was without Avast but I’ve been infected with Google Redirect virus when I had Avast running full blast at my computer and it seems to have done nothing to protect me against this!

A lot of these infections are updated by the hour to avoid detection- very often no anti-virus will detect them at first. However, they mostly install by using security weaknesses in software- which you can do something about. Scan with Secunia either online or installed and update any insecure software. This will greatly reduce the risk of infection.

Secunia Online Software Inspector (OSI)
Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI)

I’ll check with Secunia, but will updating my software help with IS2010? This virus looks to be hijacking the website or its pop-ups on its own without my direct or indirect action. It seems all I can do is to attempt to shut down its download ASAP but its tricky since they purposedly mix up cancel/go ahead buttons and last time (the reason I’ve got infected) attempt to close my internet browser when the IS2010 started its hijacking download - froze my computer, so by the time I used Task Manager (within 2min) to shut it down manually it managed to download itself on my computer. (con side of fast internet connection).

Did you try the removal guide i posted ?

Not if it’s already installed.

Follow the removal guide.

I am working on removing it. My question is, once I clean out my computer, will Secundia find a way to stop IS2010 from re-installing on my computer again? What can I do to stop IS2010 from re-installing other than being fast enough!

I’ve got infected when I was doing a google search, I was looking for perfectly safe topic - fiction book author biography, I opened several webpages on my tab like I usually do, and I haven’t noticed that one of them turned into IS2010! By the time I reached it (5min later) I was already fully infected! And it happens very frequently, at least 1-2 weeks when I open websites, some of them I visited hundreds of times before and which I consider pretty safe with no random pop-ups or ads, some random websites somehow get redirected on their own volition and converted to IS2010 download site and all I can do is close them as fast as possible. And I would have thought that those sites were infected but when I go there again it doesn’t happen again, but happens instead to another random websites, so its not them its either me or IS2010 is too aggressive! I thought I was safe if I didn’t click on any pop-ups, ads, unknown downloads, email links and usual suspects, my IE 8.0 settings don’t allow me to download files as usual unless I confirm it several times or let pop-ups or activex to activate without my permission! But this IS2010 is driving me crazy! It attemps to infect /attack my computer on its own volition without my doing anything. It redirects previously safe websites into its own webpage and starts download on its own without my direct/indirect action, and all I can do is shut down my browser fast enough!
I want to close whatever loophole or get some anti-viral software to prevent IS2010 from even redirecting my browser to its websites from the good webpage I was trying to open!

The secunia scanner will not protect you against anything, it is a scanner that will tell you what software in your computer that needs to be updated because of security risks or out of date

The PRO version of Malwarebytes Antimalware (the program used in the removal guide) will block it, and many more
You have to pay for the blocking module and autoupdate function
It is a onetime fee for a liftime license www.malwarebytes.org
