Does facebook have a Storage Limit?

My sister told me their Laptop was on its last legs. I asked her what specific symptoms / problems she was experiencing. She said that actually, it was really only facebook that kept freezing up on her. She was having to constantly log off and log back in to get it going again.

I told her that in that case, if it was really only facebook problems, then her Laptop was NOT the problem. I asked her a series of questions. Among them was that when she sometimes used her daughter’s Mac computer … was facebook problem free on THAT computer? My sister said that no … facebook acted up also on her daughter’s Mac computer. That confirmed that my sister’s Laptop was not the problem.

My sister also mentioned having gotten a message along the lines of, “You have run out of memory.” She could not clarify whether that was a Windows message or a facebook message.

NOW … I happen to know that most of the images that my sister uses in her facebooking are of the HUGE size, ranging in typical File Sizes of from 1 MegaByte to almost 4 MegaBytes EACH!

IF facebook does have a Storage Limit, I wouldn’t doubt that my sister has reached it

So DOES facebook have a Storage Limit? If so, how many Gig is it?

No limit. But, if you open your home page and it’s loaded with many large files and you
have some internet slowdowns, then things will lag.

I have told my sister several times before this bit about how while viewing images with huge file sizes straight off of a computer’s hard drive is no real biggie … usage of any of those for Online purposes be it E-mailing them or using them on facebook and any Online community is a horse of a different color. I’ve told her that in that situation, yes, a whole mess of images with huge files sizes WILL bog down the loading of a page.

I told her again just this morning now that she’s experiencing the problem.

I offered to show her how to downsize and squeeze out the MegaBytes with IrfanView or FastStone Image Viewer. I don’t know if she’ll think it’s too much hassle to be doing that to all images.
