Does free version of AVAST (windows 10) require separate firewall software?

My free version of McAfee LiveSafe is about to expire. I plan to replace it with AVAST free anti-virus software which will turn off Microsoft Defender. My computer is a desktop sitting behind a router (makes it a private network, right?) My question is do I need additional firewall software? Does AVAST free include some sort of firewall. Thank you

I personally just use Avast Free Antivirus, WIndows Standard firewall and Router firewall on every system in the household here, works well for my needs I do believe, I could be wrong, as i’m no security expert, just standard/advanced user, and careful user these days

Anti Virus doesn’t come with Firewall, Internet Security does.

I’m quite happy with the Free version of Avast and the firewall supplied via Windows 10.

Today I got a W10 laptop and I just remembered, that earlier WD was separate? In the meantime it migrated to ‘Windows Defender Firewall’. So I can install the last free ‘Avast 17.9.2322’ during running WDF’. Therefore I have to go online.
