Does new free version 5.0 have Web Shield or not?

I’ve been running free home edition 4.8 which has a Web Shield provider. Recently, a warning box has been popping up with the “Your free antivirus will expire soon”, prompting me to install version 5.0.

In the pop-up box is a side-by-side comparison of Free Antivirus to Internet Security pay version for $30. One of the comparisons is “Enjoy worry-free web surfing” where the “free antivirus” version has a RED ‘X’ and the pay “Internet Security” version has a GREEN checkmark. To me, this implies the the Web Shield provider has been removed from the free version. Is this true?

If this is NOT the case, then the comparison is either not accurate, or at least kind of misleading. Please advise? Thanks!

mikebo

yes, the free version has a web shield ;D

The safe web surfing is referring to the Sandbox in the paid versions. It allows you to virtualize your web browser, so even if the shields miss a malware sample, your PC will not be infected. The free version has the Web Shield.
