The headline says it all.
I have been informed of a new bank fraud trojan called neverquest, that apparantly others can’t stop.
Am I safe from this threat in Avast safezone?

Thank you for the reply, pity I didn’t understand the connection to my question???
I understand that Kaspersky (and others) have reported a new more aggressive version of this older virus, within the last few days, and claim special measures are needed against this thing???
As a (paying) Avast user I would like to be reassured that Avast perhaps already has this one covered.
Interesting.

Edit: I’m sure one realizes, No one Security software program can protect against every threat. I always recommend a ‘layer’ Security profile.
This allows for more effective protection.
Paying customer or not all four versions of avast use the same detection engine.
FYI, I am a paying customer also. But I use the free version. 8)
Thank you for the reply, pity I didn't understand the connection to my question?to show you that all versions listed in that article are detected, so you can be sure avast is on top of it
leave the worry to avast… this is what the lab work with 24/7
I’m not talking specifically talking about this new trojan (I don’t know enough about it).
The avast SafeZone (which I presume that you mean) for on-line banking is essentially isolated from your regular desktop. It also uses its own browser (safezone browser - based on the chromium browser - not google chrome), this has very limited functionality and restricts add-ons, etc.
These two factors should help prevent your main desktop/system from becoming infected. If any infection did happen to get into the safe zone (it shouldn’t be able to get out), you can clear the safe zone and start it up again.
Thanks, DavidR, that was a much more pertinent and useful reply.
It would be really useful if I could also prevent the safezone browser remembering form data, despite being instructed not to.
You’re welcome.
I’m not sure why it is remembering form data, unfortunately I only use the avast free version so I can’t do any testing. Perhaps you should start a new topic specifically about this safezone browser saving form data, despite being instructed not to. This may draw more attention to the issue than raising it under this topic’s Title.
That said, I guess you want that to prevent access to that form data. That could only happen from within the safe zone and the safezone browser. That should give a good degree of protection from access from outside the safe zone.
Provided you control who has access to your computer and can’t use your logon account they shouldn’t be able to access that data.
