Does the Pro Antivirus version have an "auto shut down" ?

Hi All,

I run my PC 24/7 and set it to run a full scan late in the day. Sometimes I’m at it when the scan runs and sometimes not. About 2 weeks ago when I returned to it in the morning, I found it OFF. I’m its only User and wondered WHY? Yesterday a scan was running and ended as I walked from the room. Just after the scan ended I caught a glimpse of my screen saying the PC was “logging out of Windows,” and it did, and shut off the PC. Coincidence? I have no scheduled “shut down” task. Is there something in avast that can do a shut down?

Thank you!

Yes, there is the option in the scheduled tasks to shutdown when the scan is finished.

How do you FIND the “Scheduled Tasks?” When I click on the icon in my system tray I’m told “Everything is good” and see eight buttons on the left. None is called that and when I go thru each of them, one at a time, “Scheduled Tasks” is not mentioned?

I see Status, Scan, Tools, Store, My Devices, Help, Statistics and Settings, and none, when clicked on, points you to “Scheduled Tasks.”

There is no User Manual for this 2014 version that I can find. :frowning:

Thank you!

scan > choose quick or full scan > settings > scheduling

There is the faq section http://www.avast.com/faq.php
and
start avast > click the question mark > click support > choose “open help”
