On several occasions I have interrupted the screensaver when it has been scanning C:/Systyem Volume Information, and when it starts again it starts scanning from zero number of files scanned at C:/BJPrinter which is 9 folders above System Volume (folders sorted alphabetically). I understand from posts in this forum that the avast screensaver scanner should pick up where it left off.
Testing that earlier today, I found that sometimes the file number counter does start at 0 again but I noticed that the scanner actually started where it left off when stopped.
I did this test by stopping the scan in a program I knew had many files … in this case, MS Train Simulator … as soon as it started scanning those files. I restarted the scan by using Preview on the screen saver tab of desktop properties. Yep, the restarted scan started in MS Train Simulator files.
I did this on a couple of other large programs and sometimes the number count would restart at 0 and sometimes it would pick up where it left off … but, the actual scanning restarted in the same set of files where it had been stopped.
I hope this helps you.
