Doesn't scan newly downloaded apps on Moto G5 Plus

I just got a new phone, Moto G5 Plus. Avast does not automatically scan apps I just downloaded. On my previous phone, Moto G3, Avast would report, a minute or so after a download, that the app was OK. I there some way to enable this?
