you need to install the Bat plugin in avast. Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs → avast Antivirus → Change/Remove → Change.
Then you need to enable the avast plugin in the Bat.
PS. it was Russian (but you need to switch IE to use the Cyrillic encoding to view it properly)

Don’t change POP and SMTP servers. Just cutomize the Protection/Anti-Virus page in the Bat preferences dialog.
