Don't lose your discount pop up

About a month ago I renewed my avast subscription and initially I did it through the desktop program but due to complications I wasn’t able to complete it so I ended up buying it through the website. Now, I get frequent pop ups by avast telling me not to lose my discount despite me already owning a paid copy and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to stop this from happening.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions.
Avast GUI → Settings → Popups

The option is disabled but I still get the pop up. Basically, the pop up is a result of a purchase order that isn’t finalized but I can’t cancel it.

That forum post doesn’t seem to help since I’ve had this pop up for about a month now and it states the pop up should go away in a couple days.
Regardless, I’ll wait a few more days and if I notice it has stopped I’ll post back my results.

I believe this is different from the link to another topic, unlike that topic, the user started to order from within the AvastUI Store. Backing out of that would still leave an open basket and this is what they were being notified of.

In your case the renewal discount would still be active on the old subscription, but it wouldn’t directly know of the current license/subscription purchased outside of the UI.

I have a suggestion that may or may not work. Open the my.avast.com account, using your browser, check two things.

  1. What licenses are shown in the Licenses section, that may still show the old one and the new one. You may be able to assign the new license to the existing installation.

  2. Check the devices you have listed, you may have two duplicates, one for the old installation and license. If so try deleting the old device/license entry. You would then need to reconnect your new license to your avast account.

Well it’s been a few days now and shockingly I haven’t even received one pop up since making the original post. Very strange that the problem just disappeared like that without me doing anything but I’m grateful that is has.
