Don't spread the additional info.

Hi ye all,

Text documents in Word spread a lot of extra document information, as we come to analyze it. Who is the Author, who the Company, Keywords, Comments, What Template used, for instance Normal.dot. What kind of Word Application used, e.g. Word 10.), Time of Creation, Last Saved, Last Printed. Last Edited, Page Count and Word Count.

With the program Doc Scrubber 1.1. from http://javacoolsoftware.com 0.8 MB - free version, you can alter scrub settings to enable Clear Subject, Clear Keywords, Clear Comments, Reset Template, Rev. Count, Remove Hidden-Revision Log, Remove Unique Identifier, Clear last Edited By, Clear Last Saved Date, Clear Creation Date, Reset Author to just Author, and Company specified to just Company.

In this way your document is not withstanding the context again Tabula Rasa-ed.

If you want to stay anonymous, or your Company’s affairs should stay confidential, this program comes in very handy.

Thanks Polonus, I’ve downloaded and will give it a try 8)

I think MRU-Blaster has the same ability to remove history files.

Thomas, MRU-Blaster does not do what Doc Scrubber does.
See Polonus description and MRU concept.

Oh i see ;D

Thanks Polonus, great program. I’ve noticed the information in Word documents properties is excessive. Recently I noted that a friends doc. they sent me was sent from an office. Turns out was their family business. That’s o.k.
I didn’t recognise the Company, but I knew who had sent it.Then I thought that’s not good, too much information !
Plus if I was inclined you could notify an employer that an employee was using WORD at work for their own advantage. Which may be good in certain situations.
Apart from that any legitimate WORD document from a home computer should not have all this detail. Unless the user wants it .Not as default.
