I am using a Dell Dimension 3000, Pentium 4, 1gb memory, 80gb HDD, Thank You

From where are you reading that info?
Seems that avast self-defense module is blocking changes from Advanced WindowsCare… which I don’t know why is it messing with avast keys…

It means Advanced WindowsCare went rummaging in the avast registry entries and avast folder, with write permision and avast’s self-defence module won’t allow that, so that the entries can’t be modified or deleted to disable avast.

I really have no idea why it would want to do that (I don’t use AWC) but you have nothing to worry about.

I also don’t understand why you have a Thumbs.db file in the \English folder, thumbs.db is normally only there if you have images in that folder or you view that folder as Thumbnails or that file thimbs.db was there before avast version 4.8.

Thumbnails are good thing to disable anyway.

Open Explorer ( Windows key+E ) then go to the hard drive then got to Tools then Folder Options then View select Do not cache thumbnails

Yes, though I don’t see why they would be good to disable.

I couldn’t understand why they would need to cache thumbnails as if you have the View options set to files as thumbnails it would generate them when you open the folder

I tend to have all my image folders set to View as Thumbnails, much easier to find what you want than a cryptic or even useful file name in the List or Details, etc.

Yes, though I don't see why they would be good to disable.
It is a useless file as far as I can tell and does not interfere whether you are using any of the Folder display options.

See a CCleaner request:

I think the idea of the cache is that the thumbnails don’t have to be regenerated helpful for those with slower systems.

;D Thank You All for that very informative info. I wasn’t sure what all that meant. Each of you have been very Kind and Helpful and I Thank Each and Everyone of You. Thank You.

No problem, glad I could help.
