I have two instances of AvastUI.exe running ever since updating to the newest version of Avast, I’m on Windows 7 64-bit and I’ve done a full uninstall and a clean install and still the issue persists, I just want to know if this normal in the new version or not.
This according to an explanation by one of the avast team is correct - I believe it related to the avastUI undertaking multiple tasks so now it is split between the two running processes.
Same avast version and only one avastui.exe is running.

It seems to be normal, although I heard on XP, you only have one.
There is only one avastUI.exe running in XP OS.
Later OSes Win7 or later I believe have two running in task manager.
HI avast team I just thought I should just mention that I also have two AvastUI.exe entries in my task manager for Windows 8.1 64 bit operating system as well.

I don’t like multi process “thing”. That is one of the reasons why I avoid Chromium based browsers.
Option to use one AvastUI.exe process would be nice.
