In these last 2 or 3 days my avast on 4 different pc Avast show the virus definitions notification pop up twice one after the other.
What’s happen?
There are many such topics in the forums, this is just one returned by search or browsing the forums, http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=101278.0.
Sorry my fault, may be is the Summer hot
No problem, it is very hard to be first at posting something in the avast forums ;D
Hopefully they will resolve it in due course, I still haven’t seen this on my win7 netbook, but have on this XP Pro one.
The problem also happens for me on 2 Windows 7 machines. The thread here points only to the problem seen on XP. Hope AVAST can fix this soon also for Windows 7.
Already fixed in the latest Beta.

If this is not fixed by the 20th, I will not be renewing my license and Avast however good comes off, this should have been fixed by now!
Also what I find annoying is being told like a naughty boy and a complete idiot that my license is due to expire in a months time each and every time I boot up.
Please no excuses get it fixed or lose a customer!
Dave
As already mentioned in the post prior to yours it is fixed in the new beta 7.0.1461
Lets hope it’s before the 20th! It was called fixed this other week!
Nuff said, better things to do!
Davy
Well im telling you it is fixed in the beta, im using it
This problem with the message happening twice is still happening on my laptop which has windows 7
See Reply #5…!!
Yes, it seems it was fixed, but it’s now happening again. Two of my computers just had the double announcement in about the last hour – number two just a moment ago. Again, I don’t much mind unless this could be indicative of something else in the way of quality control or quality assurance that may not be quite up to Avast’s usual fine standard. And it seems there is some dispute about the issue of whether it has returned, so if you want me to have my IC Recorder ready for the next time I get an update I will do so and then send the file to whomever doesn’t believe me. In other words, please don’t tell me I’m wrong. The problem has definitely returned.

There see, it’s not just me is it, now do you believe me? Yes, my current version is up to date!
Dave
Your not reading the post correctly, it’s fixed in the beta version! are you running the beta 7.0.1461? or the current stable 7.0.1456.
ManyQs does not state which version he’s using but i would have to assume it’s 7.0.1456.
Yes I did see that you, craigb, and Asyn wrote that it’s all just fine and dandy in the beta version but I ask you: What’s that got to do with the issue for us that use the latest version we are advised by the company to use?
I might be wrong but I don’t recall any popup advising that we install the beta, or did I miss something? In fact, I thought the beta was for those that could take a chance on some unforeseen bug being in the product and NOT for us simple customer folks.
It just a conformation from us stating not to worry about the double sound notice and it has been fixed in the beta, you are welcome to try the beta if you wish ( betas can have unforseen problems ) or simply wait for the next stable to be released knowing that this issue has been rectified
craigb:
Yes I noted you are using the beta version - quite different I know! Then again you are also using…
Intel Core i7 2630QM 16GB RAM, Win7 64 SP1, IE9 (TPL), Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M, Avast 7.0.1461, Malwarebytes Pro 1.62, Outpost Firewall Pro 7.5.3
And I assumed… say no more! Please keep in mind not everyone is running the beta version, you are quite right in assuming I am using Avast 7.0.1461.
So It ain’t fixed yet but OK in the beta… would the 1461 be the beta by any chance? Guess we’ll have to wait and see is one option, certainly double sounded again this morning.
Dave
All that is being said is that the next regular program update will resolve this as that fix is already in the beta build 7.0.1461. When the beta testing is concluded the regular program update will be released, then everyone, not just those using the beta version will have the fix.
Wew. Good thing I scanned through the forums again. (I have not been able to these past few weeks due to my very hectic schedule at school)
I have been wondering why avast notifies me of a new virus database update twice in succession (I’m only getting the sounds though). It’s a good news that this has been fixed already in the beta version.
Thanks avast!
