As soon as Avast 7 appeared, i downlaoded it. But i have a enormous doubt. Due to the numbers of shield, the new characteristics and the new interface i’m scared that Avast! will consume lot of RAM. Can someone tell me if this will happen?
i’ve got Windows XP with 1GB RAM, with this RAM will i get problems with speed of my PC? Please help me
In a similar vein, I have 768 Megs RAM on an aging Thinkpad and no way to upgrade past 1Gig… I guess what I’m wondering is, does Avast 7 require more memory (resources) than Avast
Generally speaking, you can install avast 7 (I am using 1GB RAM).
But, my suggestion would be to keep using avast 6 for a couple of weeks (or more) or even wait to the next program update (skipping the current first release of avast 7 ).
Don’t get me wrong, it will work. But currently, there are too many little “quirks” IMHO, and the first scans are a little slower than before (until the “cache features” can kick in). I mean, slower, if you happen to install it and use it without issues.
For many users, avast 6, for now, it’s enough and works fine.
