Hello,

I need to upload a file to a site that is blacklisted. When I click on the download link with ASB I get the screen shown below. I take no risks. The file provider is reliable and I have control keys. So I put an exception in Avast (http://ds4emloty3shq.cloudfront.net/*). This has no effect for ASB. However, I can download the file with another browser or download applications. Does ASB have its own exception list? And if so, how can we access it? Otherwise an explanation or suggestions.

Yes, you are right. Unfortunately Avast AV exception does not affect ASB blocking. ASB URL blocking works independently on Avast AV application.
At the moment the only way to do the action you describe would be to temporarily disable “Web Shield” in ASB on SPC page (green shield icon in top right corner or enter secure://security-privacy-center/ to the address bar).

But I see that this is not optimal state. I will forward your problem to our product manager. In my personal opinion exception list would be a good addition. And if it could be in sync with Avast AV exception list even better.

In the mean time, if you believe that this file provider was marked as malicious incorrectly. You can report suspected FP to our Threat team via https://www.avast.com/false-positive-file-form.php#pc

Thank you for your very clear answer. To download the file in question, I managed otherwise. I do not own the file in question. I leave it to the author to raise the “false positive”.

The purpose of my approach was to make Avast aware of this problem. Improvement will surely take time. In the meantime, I suggest you put a few lines of explanation in the FAQ.
