download link for version 7 ?

Hello - I wanted to try version 7, but I’m unable to find a download. Filehippo is not working.
They have all the version 7 versions listed, but when you select them for download, version 8 (105MB)
download commences.

Thanks in advance for any info.

hey do you have trouble with avast 8 or why do you not what to use the latest version of avast?

I just returned to Avast after two years of MSE. I wanted to try version 8, as I heard good things about it.
It installed OK, but after a day or two I started receiving a load error for aswsnx after the boot. Did the repair,
and it worked OK through a few boots and then the error returned. I have not received any info as to what
aswsnx is, and the impact of it not loading .

Secondly, scanning the system drive in Avast 8 is very slow, it varies between 2 - 11 MB all the way through.
I looked at the setting for persistent cache, but I don’t really understand how the settings should be used.
What happened to the transient cache? Is it abandoned?

items like this leave me uneasy, and this is the reason I switched to MSE in the first place.
MSE may be the Internet Explorer of AV products (as somebody else said recently), but there is no ambiguity
with it’s operation.

Do NOT download the new version. It is a terrible update and very very buggy. Stick with version 7 until they figure out the issues in 8.

C’mon its just a few out of 183 million users who are reporting issues there arent the whole gang of 183 million users reporting issues…and since its new version it is bound to have issues. :slight_smile:

every system is different what may work well on one system may be a disaster on the other one
