A friend of mine has tried to download avast! via a dial-up connection. Needless to say it’s not working. He wants to know if he can plug my DSL line into his computer and then download avast!
If he has the internet-access via Dial-up, he must have no network card but a so-called modem-card or he uses a ‘usb-mini-modem’. I’m just using both of them for this area (where I’m right now) is far away from a big city.
No problem.
I would say it isn’t a matter of allowing him to connect his computer to your network (if it is even possible), I certainly wouldn’t allow it as you have no idea of the state of his computer.
So the suggestion of you downloading it and save to USB/CD and give him that. I would plumb for the CD rather than either use his USB or using one of yours and plugging it into an unknown system.
