Downloaded 5.1.889 update now services.exe takes 90 to 100% of CPU time

I am running XP home on a Sony Vaio and its been running fine for a while.
Avast told me of a new update available and I let it download 5.1.889 update and then rebooted to let it finish.
Now the computer is unusable as services.exe runs continuously taking 90 to 100% of the CPU time. Can anyone help?
I have now uploaded the services.exe dump file

I don’t know if it will be able to do with services.exe, but anyway…

Run it as administrator, find “services.exe” process and when it’ll use high CPU, right-click it and choose “Create dump > Full dump”. Then compress the dump file and upload it to ftp://ftp.avast.com/incoming/.

You can also use http://public.avast.com/~vlk/hangrep.exe to generate a manual dump of the application (in this case, services.exe
