Downloading Avast 4 Prof from CNET downloads

Hello,
I just purchased a 2-yr subscription and tried downloading the product but iexplorer keeps on telling me the site is unavailable. :-\

Is anyone else experiencing this??? ???

Try direct from the avast site, scroll down to the English language version not the Cnet download link, which can get busy.

avast! Pro Download - http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-professional.html

Thanks David, but still the same error message. I am thinking about getting a refund. Who should I talk to or email?

I’d say check your hosts file - maybe avast! site it blocked there from a previous virus infection?

[font=Segoe UI]Let’s check your HOSTS file.

Hijack This (HJT) ============

1 Download Trend Micro Hijack This here
2 Install HJT in C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis (the location is already displayed by default). Click Install
3 HJT Window will appear. Click Do a system scan and save a logfile. A notepad file will pop-up once the scan is completed
5 Click on the Notepad window and click File > Save As and save the file on your desktop
6 Go back here on your topic and start a reply. On the Reply window, click Additional Options
7 Attach the .txt file that we created and saved on your desktop
NOTE: Do not have HJT fix anything yet.

Are you using a download manager or just your browsers (which is?) download function.

Bearing in mind what has been said about the HOSTS file, you could try this direct download using an IP address rather than a domain name, which would get round domain blocking.
http://74.55.48.42/iavs4pro/setupengpro.exe right click and select save as or save file as depending on your browser or enter that path into your download manager.

I got the same problem when trying to download the free home edition & I got the link for the standalone installer for avast home from a blog, maybe you can found the download link for the pro standalone installer to from this blog address link here :
http://bothsmartandwise.blogspot.com/2009/11/avast-avira-avg-malwarebytesantimalware.html
if there no link for the pro edition, maybe contacting that blog admin to ask for the direct link for the standalone installer could help

If you look a little closer in the post above yours, you will see I gave a link for a stand alone installer, if you look a little further you will also see it might be a case of being blocked, hence my use of an IP address.

If it were being blocked (Hosts file or DNS redirect, etc.) any link in a blog would suffer the same fate.
