I have been using Avast Home Edition and have tried twice to upgrade to Avast Professional without success. Any suggestions?
Just buy the license for the pro version and enter it in your current version.
You can buy it HERE
That’s all you have to do.
Are you connected to the Internet in this computer?
Do you have the Professional Key to add to avast?
What is the error message you’re receiving?
Which is your avast version and your operational system?
- I am using MS XP Pro. and connect to the Internet using MS IE 7.
- I was trying to download Avast Pro while I was connected to the Internet.
- I received a message, I thick it was from Avast, that I could try Avast Pro edition for a period at no cost & without having to purchase a license. Was this information wrong?
avast has 60 days trial period
Did you first download the pro trial setup file to your hard disk before trying to install it or did you try to install direct from the download ?
I would have thought that an uninstall, reboot, run the uninstall utility, reboot and install the pro trial would be the best way to go.
Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here and save it to your HDD so you can find it later.
The user could have a problem with a ‘second’ installation of avast because, maybe, if he/she use the first trial period, the second will be reduced to 6 days, due to the antipiracy policy.
To use the full period, the user must have installed the Home since from the beginning and did not download the Pro (Trial) setup and used it…
Well yes and no!!!
See this thread for more details.
- How can I download the Avast Pro Trial software?
- How can I confirm that I have successfully downloaded the product?
Download the Professional version.
Just do NOT download the Home version.
You say you tried unsuccessfully to upgrade/download twice, can you explain exactly what you did ?
Did you first download the pro trial setup file to your hard disk before trying to install it or did you try to install direct from the download ?
That way if we see you have done something wrong we can advise how to correct that.
Once installed, by right clicking the avast icon, select about avast! you will see what version you have.
I didn’t know such a process existed or is necessary. I’ll try to implement…later today. Thanks.
