Just as a FYI to fellow users with this problem: The DPC firewall issue has not been fixed in the 2014-9.0.2014 beta. Save yourself the trouble of reinstalling.
Well, it’s not a surprise and I don’t think it will ever be fixed as it’s flawed in its core code I think. The implementation of the network driver is horrible. The only way in my opinion is to rewrite the firewall from scratch, otherwise as I mentioned above, there will be numerous fixes and updates as there are until now, providing no solution.
Hm, haven’t they done so already? I remember they were rewriting firewall entirely for v2014…
Which did not fix it.
Sorry your issue isn’t getting addressed. At least the Windows firewall is fairly secure on its own. That’s what I’m using at the moment, because I never could find a perfect 3rd-party firewall. I would have recommended Comodo (free) but IMO they ruined the user interface in version 6
Anybody know, they fix this issue at 2016 version AIS?
Thank you.
No. Short and simple answer
Thank you.
Any changes?
Or this problem will be ignored?
Most likely it will be ignored.
It’s really bad… :-
By the way, Now I got this bug at my other PC (windows 8.1. x64,mb: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7, cpu: I7 970…)…
To propheticus
I love you guy
you fixed my problem
find the solution for long time
finally my sound problem is gone…
So, Any solution for this bug or this error will never be fixed?
_
p.s. also tested on windows 8.1 pro x64 and this error appears again.
This particular problem with DPC latency is the only reason why i remove my licensed Avast IS from PC, and never’ll install it again.
Shame on you, Avast…
Status update: Avast 2015 Beta2 (10.0.2200) - DPC issue still not fixed. Different/new pc, same issue.
Nothing get ignored. Some things just take longer to fix than others.
I personally think this is something that need a quick resolve but I’m not a programmer and
have no clue how complicated the issue is.
Agree,
Same on my PC…
Just upgraded to the paid version of Avast and I’m now having exactly the same issues as others described in this thread. How disappointing to only find this out after paying for a product.
This issue still exists in the 2015 version of the product.
I’d like to bring this up yet again. I’m on Win7 with a Realtek integrated sound card andI’ve been using Avast IS for a little over two years now. Over the last year (Not sure why it didn’t occur previously) I’ve had this ghostly issue of media stuttering. I was/am a total scrub when it comes to computers, but did some research. Used a few DPC latency monitors, latencymon and dpclat, and discovered that drivers were likely my issue. After months of trying different driver configurations and frustration with my NDIS and netIO driving latency through the roof, I’d like to believe that the problems presented in this thread are similar to my own. Avast, please do something about this. I love your product and have purchased a 3 year license. I’d hate to have my money wasted and tell people about your issues.
