So you are suggesting to simply turn off https scanning? The FAQ states that this makes the system more vulnerable. I have some questions before I do that.

  1. Although the FAQ states that “HTTPS scanning is not supported in Windows XP…”, what would cause the problem to appear this late.
  2. If https scanning is not actually functioning although it is checked as enabled, I don’t have a problem disabling. What has caused the problem to arise now even though https scanning has been enabled since I began using Avast on this WinXP machine a number of years ago… and will I be actually making myself more vulnerable by disabling it?
