When I try running a trainer for Dungeon Siege 2, I get a pop up warning saying that the program is a virus Win32:Trojan-gen. {UPX!} and it wont let me run it. I tried looking for a way to allow it to run but cannot find a place to do it in the settings. I have to disable virus protection in order to run it. How can I tell the AV to allow it to run without disabling the AV?
Hello and Welcome ![]()
If you find a file which is detected incorrect (false positive) you can send this file to virus[at]avast[dot]com in password protected archive (usually the password is “virus”) and for mail subject write “False Positive”, so that avast! team can correct this false positive in some of the next VPS updates ![]()
Till the false positive is fixed you can add the incorrect detected file to the exclusion list in the Standart Shield options(so that the Standart Shield won’t scan this file) :
Resident Protection → Standart Shield → Settings → Advanced → List of excluded areas ![]()
Edit: Just to be sure you can upload the file to virusscan.jotti.org or www.virustotal.com to see if only avast! detects it as a virus, if so, this is false positive. ![]()
Hi, which trainer was identified as a virus?
